Hiring devs is difficult. Unfortunately, people go to what they know when searching for candidates. I regularly read stories about qualified candidates being overlooked because of high-pressure coding exercises. I am already nervous during an interview, worrying about body language and other things. Adding a complicated impromptu question can throw my composure.
